Business spotlight: cutting edge sALON
What began as helping her sisters in a busy household soon grew into a lifelong passion for Charity, a talented hairdresser from Harare whose journey started at home before she took the bold step into professional hairdressing. Beginning at the very bottom at Headlines Hair Salon sweeping floors and shampooing, she quickly caught the eye of mentor Martin Lightfoot, who recognised her potential and nurtured her skill with patience. Instead of rushing to qualify like her peers, Charity dedicated an extra year to perfecting her craft, learning from every salon owner she worked with and expanding her experience in South Africa. By 2014, she opened her own salon, a warm and professional space built on care, dedication, and a genuine love for people.

How to juggle home life with running a business
Outsourcing isn’t a sign of failure, it’s the key to sanity. By delegating tasks that drain your energy or lie outside your expertise, you free up mental headspace and hours in your week. Imagine never having to try and figure out what audio goes with your reel, or how to get canva to do that one thing, giving you more time for meeting clients or simply clocking off early to enjoy a cuppa in peace.
